Residential Portfolio - Rock Paper Scissors

Rock, Paper, Scissors

Located in Healdsburg and sited atop a hill in a bucolic vineyard, the contemporary 5,500-square-foot home exemplifies California indoor-outdoor living with expanses of glass and cantilevered floor plates. Shawback Design took cues from the landscape and the house's material palette of stone, cedar, and concrete for the interiors, adding saturated hues, bold patterns, and nuanced textures. The team sought out unique artists and craftspeople for the house; the project's name, Rock Paper Scissors, comes from a whimsical garden sculpture by artist Kevin Box who casts paper into metal.
